Jawa has launched the new Jawa 42 FJ in the Indian market. The modern-retro motorcycle pays homage to the founder of the Jawa brand František Janeček. Also, the new model comes with a brand-new 350 Alpha2 engine. The new engine is also performance oriented and helps compete with Honda’s CB350RS. The Jawa 42 FJ comes with a starting price of INR 1.99 lakh ex-showroom. The Aurora Green Matte alloy version comes with a price tag of INR 2.12 lakh ex-showroom. The Cosmo Blue Matte and Mystique Copper Jawa 42 FJ is priced at INR 2.17 lakh ex-showroom and the Deep Black – Matte Red and Matte Black versions are priced at INR 2.22 lakh ex-showroom.
On the other hand, the Honda CB350RS comes with a starting price of INR 2.15 lakh ex-showroom. While the mid-spec DLX and DLX Pro Dual Tone variants comes with a price tag of INR 2.18 lakh ex-showroom. In addition to this, the brand also retails the New Hue Edition of the Honda CB350RS which comes with a price tag of INR 2.19 lakh ex-showroom.
Powering the Jawa 42 FJ is a larger yet quieter 334cc single cylinder liquid cooled motor that produces 29.17 PS of power and 29.62 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch. The Jawa 42 FJ also gets a 1440 mm of wheelbase and 178 mm of ground clearance. On the other hand, the Honda CB350RS comes with 348.3cc single cylinder engine that produces 21 PS of power and 30 Nm of torque. The engine is matched to a 6-speed gearbox with a wet multiplate clutch. The Honda CB350RS also comes with 1441 mm of wheelbase and 168 mm of ground clearance.
Both the Jawa 42 FJ and the Honda CB350RS come with disc brake on the front and rear along with a dual channel ABS system. In addition to this, both bikes also come with a hydraulic telescopic suspension. While the Jawa 42 FJ has a kerb weight of 184 kg the Honda CB350RS comes with a kerb weight of 179 kgs.
