Jaguar is celebrating 75 years of its iconic sports cars in 2023. The British sportscar maker has announced the F-TYPE 75 special edition to celebrate.
The Jaguar F-TYPE is one of the most iconic brands in automotive racing. The racing pedigree goes back all the way to 1948 when the company launched the XK120 – the world’s fastest production car then. So, when Jaguar announced they were going electric, this F-TYPE 75 would mark the end of an era of internal combustion engined sports cars. Future Jaguar cars will be all-electric.
Hence, as a fitting goodbye to the iconic brand, the carmaker has launched the F-TYPE 75 in India.
The car gets small touches like the black grill badge, R and R-Dynamic badges in grey, sequential turn indicators, fender badges exclusive to the F-TYPE 75 and others only add to the sports car’s assertiveness. Both the F-TYPE models – Coupe and Convertible – come standard with 20-inch wheels. These alloys get ten spokes and are finished in gloss black. Customers can also opt for Jaguar’s carbon ceramic brakes.
On the inside, this limited edition F-TYPE gets an all-blacked-out theme. The F-TYPE 75 gets lightweight performance seats as standard. It also receives an Ebony headliner and a unique silhouette motif on the centre console.
The F-TYPE 75 will be powered by a 5-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine developing a maximum of 444 BHP and a peak torque of 580 Nm. This engine will power the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. The top speed is rated at 285 km/h, and both rear and all-wheel drive options would be available.
The F-TYPE R 75 is the more powerful version of the car, which is available in just rear-wheel drive configuration. Engine power is bumped up to 567 BHP and 700 Nm. The 0-100 km/h time is claimed to be a fast 3.5 seconds.
