A subsidiary of Isuzu Motors Limited, Japan, Isuzu Motors India Private Limited (IMI) has now completed the 10-year anniversary of its operations in India. As part of the celebrations, the company conducted its 1st formal get-together for the employees post the pandemic period. At this celebratory event, the members of the management felicitated the long-term employees. There were also the ‘5-year’ long service awards.
Through its 10 years in existence, Isuzu has created a new niche in India with the ISUZU D-MAX V-Cross. Many often dub the D-MAX V-Cross as being India’s First Adventure Utility Vehicle (AUV).
As part of the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, Isuzu now exports its ‘Made in India’ products to neighbouring and gulf countries. Thus, India plays a very important role in ISUZU. The company has confirmed that India will continue to serve as one of the important manufacturing hubs for ISUZU globally. Furthermore, the company mentioned its plans for FY22-23. Under this, IMI would produce and deliver 25K vehicles for the given period.
The current year has also breached many internal production milestones. This includes the rollout of the 50,000th vehicle, the 5,000th locally made engine, and the 500,000th pressed part from the Sri City plant. This achievement reflects upon the dedication and determination of Isuzu. The company also aired a special film featuring the ‘Equal Opportunity Initiative’. This features the growing women’s talent in manufacturing operations at the Sri City plant. This also forms part of the ISUZU’s inclusion initiative as per its global ambitions. In all, the 10-year anniversary event included the right mix of leadership direction and motivation, employee recognition, key initiatives, and performances that charged the bonhomie to take IMI to the next level of operations.
