Royal Enfield has been spotted testing what appears to be a new 750cc Cafe Racer motorcycle, sparking excitement among enthusiasts. This test mule was seen undergoing rounds in Chennai, hinting at Royal Enfield’s next big release.
The new Cafe Racer is expected to be powered by a 750cc parallel-twin engine, which is anticipated to produce 5-7 bhp more than the existing 648cc twin-cylinder engine that delivers 47 bhp and 52 Nm of torque. The new engine is likely to be paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip and assist clutch.
The test mule showcases a Monza-style front fairing, extending to the mid-section of the fuel tank, and sporty ergonomics with clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs. The bike also features dual front disc brakes, offering better stopping power compared to the single-disc setup on the current 650cc models.
Other notable design elements include alloy wheels, chrome finish indicators, and all-black twin exhausts. The test bike is equipped with traditional telescopic forks at the front, but the production version may include upside-down (USD) forks.
Royal Enfield’s new Cafe Racer is expected to debut at the 2025 EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclistica) and 2025 Motorverse events, with a potential launch in India by 2026-27. The bike is likely to replace the existing Continental GT 650, offering a more powerful and stylish option for riders.
The new Cafe Racer will join Royal Enfield’s growing lineup of performance-oriented motorcycles, following the success of the 650cc range, including the Classic 650 and the Bear 650. With its retro styling and modern performance, the 750cc Cafe Racer is set to make a strong impression in the market. Currently there is no such bike in the Indian market to pose a competition. However, the launch is almost a year away so we might see some contenders by then.
