Is Hero MotoCorp working on a bigger Impulse?

We’ve been hearing news reports about Hero MotoCorp working on a more powerful Impulse since 2013, but there has been no positive outcome yet.

Now, rumours are doing the rounds that the bike could finally make an appearance in 2015 with a bigger engine.

Currently, the Impulse is powered by a 149.2cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder petrol motor producing 13.2 PS of power and 13.4 Nm of torque. For the dual purpose it is meant for, these power and torque figures were a little less than what the customers required. Sighting decent demand, Hero planned to bring a more powerful engine in the Impulse, but potential customers are still waiting for the end result.

Hero is now expected to get their new partner, Erik Buell Racing (EBR) to help them in this project. Earlier, reports suggested that the new Impulse could borrow the 223cc engine from the Karizma.

Only time will tell the real story, when the more powerful Impulse actually hits the streets, or if we get some insider info on this.

Hero’s next big product for the Indian market is the new HX250R sportsbike, which is expected to create quite a stir in the market with its price, power and performance combination.
