Interesting: One in every two cars sold is painted in white

What we might see in abundance in our respective cities, is actually the case all over the country. Reports suggest that off late, one out of two cars sold in India is painted in white. Seems like Indian customers have started preferring lighter colours rather than the bold red, yellow, blue etc.

A report on Economic Times claims that 66% white coloured cars are sold in north, and 35% in south. 61% luxury cars and 57% mid-size cars are sold in white. South and west are more acceptable to colours like red and maroon accounting for 13% and customers opting for black in highest in the luxury segment with 12%.

However, Indian customers accept brighter colours more for the cars interiors; and also dual-tone interiors.

Black colour is not the preferred choice also because of superstitions in India.

If you were in the market for a new car, what colour would you be looking at?
