India’s highest & longest passage, Manali-Leh NH-4 gets EV connectivity

Shuchi Anant Virya is a company founded on the alliance between Lithium Urban Technologies and Fourth Partner Energy. Both companies are India’s largest provider of EV-based mobility solutions and solar energy for commercial and industrial businesses, respectively. Shuchi Anant Virya has announced the set-up for a network of EV charging points along the Manali-Leh route in the Ladakh region. This step will enable EV connectivity along the route and include 5 of the highest motorable passes in the world.

Powerbank Electric Charging Stations Amidst the Clouds

The PowerBank team has installed 18 EV charging stations along the 1800 km stretch in 10 days. The company has constructed Fifteen of these stations at locations with a height of 10,000-14000 ft above mean sea level. The electric cars were successfully driven and charged via the installed charging points during the inaugural road trip. The installed chargers are a mix of Type-1, and Type-2 AC chargers meant for electric two, three, and four-wheelers.

Powerbank Charging Stations in Manali, Khansgar, Lato and Jispa

In Manali, the charging stations are available at key spots like Urvashi’s retreat, Ride Inn Cafe and Resort, and the Ambika HP fuel outlet. At Khansgar, the charging stations are available at the Unicorn Hotel and The Royal Enfield Showroom. Lato sees the charging stations placed at the Lato Guest House and the Hermis Monastery. The charging points in Jispa are available at Hotel Ibex and Padma Lodge.

Powerbank Charging Stations on Leh, Kargil and Nubra

The four charging stations in Leh are available at HP fuel outlets of Buddha Filling centre, LAHDC, the Abduz, and the Grand Dragon hotel. Kargil and Nubra have their charging facilities at Hotel Kargil, Nubra Organic Retreat, and Cafe-wala Chai. The forthcoming 36-48 months will see PowerBank pursue its goal of converting 50% of vehicles to EVs. These steps will significantly reduce tailpipe emissions in the Ladakh region and change people’s outlooks on EVs. Travellers can also charge their EVs overnight at the respective facilities.

Powerbank Charging Stations Across India

Shuchi Anant Virya has also set up charging stations across ten cities at more than 50 locations in India. The more significant footprint charging spots in Pune, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bangalore, and Kolkata under the PowerBank brand name. Thanks to its tie-up with HPCL, PowerBank has constructed over 100 EV charging stations across all HPCL retail outlets pan-India. This charging network has also aided 10 million green kilometres of travel.
