Maserati has delivered India’s first MC20. This event marks a new event for the auto enthusiast in India thanks to Maserati’s entry in the Indian market.
The MC20 stands for Maserati Corse 2020. It is the perfect mixture of the Italian carmaker’s heritage, engineering and unwavering passion for cars. The Maserati MC20 offers the right balance of innovative technology, unique design and exhilarating performance. This Maserati is expected to set some quality benchmarks in the high performance sports car segment.
In terms of design, the MC20 takes inspiration from the legendary MC12. However, the MC20 carries neutral styling with clean looks and flowing design. There are no aggressive aero bits. The MC20 gets butterfly mechanism doors.
On the inside, the Maserati MC20 comes with a choice of carbon fibre alcantara or leather. There are dual 10-inch screens, one of which is the driver instrument cluster while the other is the touchscreen infotainment screen. The minimal theme continues to the centre console which is finished in carbon fibre. It houses the drive mode selector.
The Maserati MC20 comes with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine. The power plant is located in the middle of the car. This motor has been dubbed as Nettuno. The engine is good for 630 HP and 730 Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels using an eight-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
Coming to the performance, Maserati claims a 0-100 km/h time of 2.9 seconds for the MC20. Meanwhile, the top speed of the sports car is 325 km/h. The kerb weight of the car is under 1,500 kg thanks to usage of light weight materials like carbon fibre and others. Thanks to the low weight, the MC20 boasts of an impressive power to weight ratio of 420 HP/ton.
