Iconic American brand Indian Motorcycle have taken the wraps off their new cruiser motorcycle called the Challenger. The Indian Challenger is a bagger-styled cruiser motorcycle and looks unlike any of its siblings launched till now. This new model from Indian Motorcycle is expected to arrive in our domestic market sometime in 2020 and it will rival the likes of Harley-Davidson CVO.
The 2020 Indian Challenger has been launched in Dark Horse and Limited variants asking for $27,499 and $27,999 in the American market. So that should give you a reference to add import taxes when the bike arrives in India. The highlight of the bike is the typical cruiser body profile coupled with the massive Batwing fairing around the headlamp. The Challenger also comes with hard saddle bags which makes it a very versatile cruiser, but for long open highways with sweeping corners. Other features of the Indian Challenger include full LED lighting, long-haul seats, ABS, keyless ignition system, PowerBand audio as optional upgrades, chrome finishes and body painted saddle bags, Ride Command touchscreen infotainment, dual dial speedometer cluster, 6.5″ speakers with 100-watt of sound output, 6-axis Bosh IMU, traction control, cornering control, Drag torque control, small fly screen, USD front forks, machine finished alloy wheels, and more…
Powering the Indian Challenger is a 1769cc, liquid-cooled, V-Twin, 60-degree, PowerPlus engine producing 122 HP of power and 173 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has a massive 22.7L fuel tank for those long bike rides and the seat height is very accessible at 672mm since this is a cruiser. The weight though with a full tank of fuel and ready to ride is 381 kg, which will make it heavy for sure to manage on Indian streets. The Indian Challenger rides on Metzeler Cruisetec tyres shod on a 19″ front rim and a 16″ rear rim. The bike sports dual 320mm disc brakes at the front and a single 298mm disc brake at the back. The bike benefits from a 43mm USD front fork and a single reach shocker with hydraulic adjustment.
