India-bound Ducati Scrambler retails at Rs. 5.25 lakh abroad

India-bound Ducati Scrambler which was revealed at the INTERMOT 2014 show has already entered production at the Bolognese factory. While the previous plan was to manufacture the bike in Thailand, the bike is now being produced in Italy. Pricing for the motorcycle is out and it will retail for about Rs. 5.25 lakh (converted).

Ducati, has officially announced that it will make a comeback to India in the first half of 2015. The first bike to be launched here in India will be the Scrambler.

The retro styled Scrambler is available in four variants such as Icon, Classic, Urban Enduro and Full Throttle. At the moment, there is no clarity if Ducati will offer all four variants in India. Major difference between the variant line-up is cosmetic.

The bike features LED inserts in the headlamp, LED tail lamp, USD front fork, rear monoshock, knobby Pirelli dual sport tyres, single disc brakes at the front and back, long single-piece seat, aluminium fuel tank cover, 18″ front and 17″ rear alloy wheels, ABS and much more.

The Scrambler is powered by a L-Twin, Desmodromic, 2 valves per cylinder, air-cooled, 803cc petrol engine producing 75 BHP of power @ 8,250 RPM and 68 Nm of torque @ 5,750 RPM. Engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the bike weighs 186 kg (wet) for the Icon variant.
