Hyundai Motors India rolls out Covid-19 relief measures. The philanthropic arm of Hyundai Motor India, named Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), is taking all the responsibilities. These initiatives will offer assistance to the states suffering the most, namely, Maharashtra, Haryana, Telangana and more. HMIF will collaborate with the state government and hospitals to set up medicare facilities. The second wave of Covid-19 has hit India adversely, disrupting the entire medicare facilities of the country. Thus, Hyundai mentions that it will redirect its resources and channel its efforts to provide support.
Given the rising cases of Covid-19 in the second wave, HMIF rolled out an INR 20 Crore package. This will help in handling the crisis and break the chain of spread. The company mentions that it will set up Oxygen Generating plants in hospitals to help meet the oxygen demand. HMIF will also look into adding medicare facilities and develop the infrastructure in the hospitals. Hyundai Motors is also taking the utmost care of its employees. It had organised a vaccination drive for its entire staff aged 45 and above.
HMIL announced that it exported 1,04,342 cars between April 2020 to March 2021. Fulfilling the company’s ‘Make In India For The World’ initiative, Hyundai currently exports to over 88 countries. The maximum share is garnered by the SUVs, which have been in huge demand for the past few years. The top-selling products in the overseas market include the likes of Venue and Creta. Even in India, these two mentioned products are in much demand.
The much-awaited 7-seater version of the Creta, named Alcazar, will soon hit the Indian roads. The car was scheduled to be launched in April, but the rise in Covid-19 cases postponed the launch date to late May. The SUV will have both petrol and diesel engine options. To cater to a wide range of audience, Hyundai is equipping the Alcazar with both manual and automatic transmission. When launched, the SUV will lock horns with other 3-row SUVs in the market like MG Hector, Tata Safari and likes.
