We are aware that, Last week, Hyundai introduced the 2023 Venue with RDE-compliant engines and new features. Now, Hyundai has made some changes to the Venue N Line as well. The crossover is currently available in N6 and N8 trims. But, with the updates, Venue N Line is now dearer by INR 30,000 than before. This is not just a mere price hike, as Hyundai has added some key features as well. These are the inclusion of side airbags and an idle start/stop system.
With the latest hike in prices, the Venue N Line range now retails at INR 12.60 lakh. The top of line, N8 dual-tone trim will cost you close to INR INR 13.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
Venue N Line Mechanical Highlights
The Venue N Line uses a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. After this update, the engine is now RDE-compliant. The power unit makes 108 BHP at 6,000 rpm and 172 Nm at 1,500-4,000 rpm. The equipped gearbox is a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
What is RDE Compliance?
Essentially, RDE is a step up to the BS6 emissions norms introduced in 2020. We know that all BS6-compliant vehicles run on engines with lower NOx and Particulate Matter emissions as per the prescribed limits. Thus, to achieve this, carmakers equip either Lean NOx Trap (LNT) or Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). This makes sure of a clean and efficient way of burning fuel with lower levels of pollutants in the environment.
Now with the RDE compliance comes BS6 2.0. This essentially means that the emissions norms are more stringent. With BS6, the vehicles were tested in labs. But with the BS6 2.0, all cars meet the prescribed emission norms even in real-world conditions. Thus to achieve this, the engines equip an onboard self-diagnostic device. This will monitor factors like changing driving behaviour and traffic conditions in real-time.
