Hyundai Venue compact-SUV prices hiked, but still the most feature loaded

Hyundai has hiked the prices of the brand’s popular compact SUV the Hyundai Venue in the Indian market. The company has increased the ex-showroom prices in the range of INR 5,000 to INR 12,000 depending on the variant. The brand has also omitted a few trims from the line-up, reducing the number of variants to 19 from the earlier 24. With the revised pricing the Hyundai Venue starts at INR 6.75 lakh ex-showroom for the 1.2 l Kappa Petrol 5-Speed Manual VENUE – E and goes up to INR 11.59 lakh ex-showroom for the 1.5 l U2 CRDi Diesel 6-Speed Manual VENUE – DSL SX(O) Dual Tone (Sport). 

The brand has omitted the 1.0-litre TGDi SX DT, 1.0-litre TGDi SX(O) DT, 1.0-litre TGDi DCT SX+ DT, 1.5D SX DT and the 1.5D SX(O) DT. This move has removed redundancies from the line-up, as the Sport trims come with Red accents on the exteriors as well as the interiors. But the Venue Turbo in the manual version will be left with only the monotone finish. 

The Kia Sonet which is underpinned by the same chassis and shares the powertrains is priced starting INR 6.71 lakh ex-showroom. But it is important to note that the Sonet is currently in the Introductory price plan and its prices are likely to be hiked after the end of the festive season. While the entry-level trim on the Sonet is INR 4,000 cheaper than the Venue the top-spec model on the Sonet is priced INR 12.89 lakh ex-showroom which is considerably higher than the top-of-the-line Hyundai Venue priced at INR 11.59 lakh.
