Hyundai Venue compact-SUV gets 17,000 bookings

Hyundai launched the Venue compact-SUV just a few days back. There was a lot of anticipation around this product, and clearly it is working well. Hyundai now claims that the Venue has received over 17,000 bookings and more than 80,000 enquirers for a purchase. The Hyundai Venue is the latest compact-SUV in India, and although late in this segment, seems like it has enough going for it.

Hyundai claims that with the launch of the Venue, they have received the highest ever footfall in their showrooms across the country.

Powering the Hyundai Venue are 3 engine options, 2 of which we are familiar with, and one all-new. The 1.0L, turbocharged, Kappa, T-GDI engine makes an Indian debut with the Venue. This motor produces 120 PS of peak power and 171.6 Nm of peak torque. This turbocharged petrol engine comes matched to a 7-speed automatic gearbox or a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol engine produces 83 PS of power and 114.7 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.4L diesel engine which is also turbocharged produces 90 PS of power and 219.6 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox. There is no automatic gearbox option available on the 1.2L petrol and 1.4L diesel engines.
