Hyundai Motor India Ltd achieved record sales of 7,20,565 units in FY 22-23, with 18% YoY growth. Domestic sales volume of 5,67,546 was also the highest ever. The marquee models like Creta, New Venue, Alcazar, Tucson, Aura and Grand i10 Nios contributed to the success.
Hyundai introduced 7 new products like TUCSON, New Venue, Venue N Line, IONIQ 5, New Grand i10 NIOS, New AURA, and Hyundai VERNA in FY 22-23. Despite global headwinds, the Indian Auto Industry momentum continues to grow.
We are aware that the Hyundai Ai3 sub-compact SUV is coming later this year. This SUV will take on the Tata Punch. Hyundai Ai3 shares the same platform as the Grand i10 Nios. And thus it will use the same powertrain as the hatchback’s. This is the 1.2-litre petrol engine with manual and AMT gearboxes and a CNG version based on this. However, for the Ai3 there are chances that it could also inherit the 1.0-litre turbo petrol.
Hyundai Ai3 SUV To Give A Tough Fight To Tata Punch
Hyundai confirmed that the SUV will most likely hit the roads in August this year. In fact, Hyundai has already begun the teaser campaign for the vehicle. The small SUV will position itself below the Hyundai Venue.
The use of Hyundai’s 1.0 T-GDi engine will give the budget SUV an advantage over the Punch. As we know the pain points of the 1.2 petrol engine. This engine will also add a bit bit of variety. In fact, the mid-range punch of the T-GDi engine will somewhat replace a typically torquey diesel.
With the Ai3 coming in, Hyundai will have more to offer to the customers. Given the rising demand for SUVs in the market, Hyundai Ai3 will come out as a perfect choice. Moreover, Hyundai is a much-renowned brand and a strong name in the Indian automotive market will help further boost sales.
