Check out the new Hyundai Mufasa Adventure SUV concept

Hyundai has taken the wraps off a new concept SUV in China. The Hyundai Mufasa Adventure SUV features a Lion King inspiration along with a few off-road modifications. According to the carmaker, the SUV Concept previews the production model that is scheduled for a debut at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Expo.

What does the Hyundai Mufasa Adventure SUV concept look like?

In terms of design, the car now gets more rough road features over the standard Hyundai Mufasa. Overall, the SUV retains its Hyundai-Kia look in ters, of body work. That said, the off-road features on this concept are not making way into the production model.

Coming to the off-road enhancements, the SUV now boasts of a lift kit and bigger knobby tyres suitable for all terrain. The tyres are mounted on 18-inch alloys. The track has been widened and the ground clearance has got a bump up as well. Overall, in terms of size, the Mufasa is a replacement of the ix35, and the equivalent of the Hyundai Tucson.

In terms of size, the Mufasa measures 4,475 mm long. This is 25 mm shorter than the ix35 / Tucson. That said, the car continues with Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness design language along with fender finishing. The car also gets a hi-tech grille and smoked LED lights on the front. At the back there is a full-width light bar as well.

Features of the Hyundai Mufasa Adventure SUV concept

The SUV Concept comes with faux aluminium inserts on the bumpers. These are designed to mimic skid plates. It also gets mounting points, a patterned side sill and handles on the bonnet. The rear window houses an add-on which is similar to the one on the Land Rover Defender. The roof rack design can be described as futuristic and gets LED lights inbuilt.

While images of the interiors have not yet been revealed, we can definitely take some hints. It is likely to come with a digital cockpit and a 5-seat configuration amongst others.

Powertrain of the Hyundai Mufasa

The production version of the Hyundai Mufasa will come with a 2.0-liter petrol engine. This motor is expected to produce 158 HP. The Mufasa will be a front-wheel-drive vehicle. Hyundai could also launch a hybrid model later down the line
