Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced the sales numbers for the month of February 2023. The car maker registered a cumulative sales of 57,851 units. Amongst these, 47,001 units were for the domestic sales while the remaining 10,850 came in the form of exports.
Hyundai maintained its number 2 spot in the Indian car sales ranking once again. The Korean carmaker showed good growth compared to the same period last year. While the February 2023 domestic sales stood at 47,001, the company had recorded 55,050 units in February 2022. This means a growth of 6.7 percent.
Similarly, for the Export figures, the February 2022 numbers stood at 9,109 against the 10,850 of the current year. The exports grew by 19.1 percent.
Lastly, the total numbers increased from 53,519 to 57,851 units, an increase of 8.8 percent.
The high sales numbers are due to the strong brand presence of the models like the Creta, i10 NIOS, and Aura amongst others. Infact, the Creta brand has registered a total sales of 8.3 lakh units since its launch.
The sales numbers also show a rising popularity amongst Hyundai models leading to a good outlook for the rest of the year.
HMIL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Hyundai Motor Company. Further, the company considers India as an important manufacturing hub. Further, it is a critical part of Hyundai’s global export hub. Since the carmaker came to India, the company has remained one of top explorers of automobiles from India. The export destinations include 85 countries across Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, Australia, and Asia Pacific.
In other news, Hyundai has announced the pricing for the Alcazar SUV with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. The Hyundai Alcazar 1.5 turbo petrol retails with a price tag of INR 16.74 lakh for the entry-level 7-seater Prestige manual variant. The prices go all the way upto INR 20.25 lakh for the top-spec Alcazar Signature (O) six-seat automatic. This 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine is the replacement of the ageing 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol. This motor makes 159 HP and 192 Nm. These figures are up by 1 HP and 61 Nm. The same engine is expected to be offered in the new Verna soon.
