BS6 Hyundai Santro launched at INR 4.57 lakh

Hyundai has launched the BS6 compliant Santro hatchback at the price of INR 4.57 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The BS6 Hyundai Santro is available to be booked online from the brand’s ‘Click to Buy’ online sales platform. The Hyundai Santro is available in Era Executive, Magna, Sportz and Asta trim variants.

In the engine department, the Hyundai Santro has received a BS6 compliant 1.1-litre  4-cylinder, 12-valve/3 valves per cylinder SOHC petrol engine producing 69 ps of power and 99 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox or an optional AMT gearbox.

The Hyundai Santro is also available as a Bi-Fuel (Petrol and CNG) version on the same engine configuration which makes 59 ps of power and 84.3 Nm of torque available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. As of now, the website shows the Bi-Fuel model to be only available with BS4 emission compliance and is expected to be updated to BS6 standards shortly. 

The Hyundai Santro features upswept headlight units, black grille with silver bezel & integrated fog lamps, body-coloured ORVMs, body-coloured door handles, hub caps on the entry-level models and wheel caps on higher-spec trims. 

On the inside, the Hyundai Santro comes with dual-tone beige and black interiors as standard across the range while optional sporty black interiors with Diana Green colour inserts available on the Magna, Sportz and Asta trims. The Santro also gets champagne gold interior garnish as standard and champagne gold inside door handles on higher-spec variants.

The Hyundai Santro also features electric power steering, power windows, manual air-conditioning with rear AC vents except for the Era Executive, folding rear seat bench, remote fuel and tailgate opening, electrically adjustable ORVMs on the Sportz and Asta models and power outlets. 

In terms of safety, the Era Executive gets a standard driver’s side airbag, ABS with EBD and is likely to be updated soon with rear parking sensors and speed alert system.
