Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced a new customer-centric warranty programme for Hyundai Kona Electric customers called the ‘Wonder Warranty’. All existing Hyundai Kona Electric customers have the option to choose from the new Wonder Warranty program without paying any extra cost.
The options offered on the Wonder Warranty are –
The battery warranty, however, remains for 8-Years/160,000 km irrespective of the Wonder Warranty option that has been chosen. The Kona Electric is provided with 7.2 KW AC charger to ensure charging at Customer’s residence in 6 hours 10 minutes in addition to the 7.2KW AC chargers that have been installed at the more than 50 Hyundai Service dealerships in more than 30 cities.
The Hyundai Kona electric also comes with a ‘Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V)’ charging facility which is an industry first and has been developed and implemented by HMIL to provide customers seamless charging at Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai and Bengaluru further reducing the range anxiety. Furthermore, the brand through its Road Side Assistance partner provides Portable Chargers for emergency charging support in Delhi and Bengaluru.
The Hyundai Kona Electric is powered by a 39.2 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack that comes with a 134 Hp / 395 Nm permanent magnet synchronous electric motor with a single-speed reduction gearbox. The Kona Electric is rated to deliver an ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) tested range of 452 km on a single charge.
In related news, Hyundai Motor Company has announced that the brand’s fully electric compact SUV Hyundai Kona Electric achieved 100,000+ global sales milestone in just over two years since it was launched in the global market. Hyundai launched the Kona Electric in March 2018 and the electric car has accounted for three-quarters of its sales from markets outside of Korea.
The Hyundai Kona Electric comes to India via the CKD route and is sold at prices starting from INR 23.71 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi and the brand has sold 300 models in the last year with a target of 500 units for 2020.
