Hyundai reveals INSTER Compact EV with 355 KM range

Hyundai has unveiled the new Inster compact electric vehicle at the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show. The all-new A segment compact EV comes with a compact footprint, yet spacious interiors, and robust exteriors. In addition to this, the Inster also comes with a sophisticated dashboard layout and advanced technological features. Furthermore, the Hyundai Inster also comes with a WLTP range of 355 km on a single charge which is not only good enough for urban commutes but also for intercity travels.

Exteriors

The Hyundai Inster is built-up on the design legacy of the Hyundai Casper which was introduced internationally in 2021. According to the brand, the Inster is positioned between the traditional A segment sub-compact cars as well as B segment compact models. On the outside, the Hyundai Inster also comes with a clean design with flush surfaces and circuit board-style bumper. The Inster also comes with a pixel-graphic turn signals, tail lamp, and bumpers. The Hyundai also features 15-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, 15-inch alloy or 17-inch alloy wheels depending on the variant.

Interiors

On the inside, the Hyundai Inster features a 10.25-inch digital cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation. The car also features a very sophisticated compact center console with a wireless charging dock. The centre console also has the HVAC controls, seat ventilation switches, as well as hot keys for various applications. The interiors also feature the Pixel-theme with graphics on the steering wheel boss. The car also comes with two themes including a Black, and Khaki Brown and Newtro Beige two-tone with full cloth trim.

Powertrain

The Hyundai Inster will be available in two powertrain variants – Standard and Long Range. Powering the standard Hyundai Inster is a 266V/97 PS electric motor which offers a top speed of 140 kmph. In its standard avatar, the Inster comes with a 42 kWh battery pack that offers a range of more than 300 km on a single charge. In the Long Range avatar, the Inster comes with a 49 kWh battery pack which comes with a more powerful 310V/115 PS motor that can propel the EV to a top speed of 150 kmph and return a range of 355 km on a single charge. Both the standard and long range versions can recharge in 4 hours and 4 hours 35 minutes, respectively with a 16A socket. Both the versions can also be recharged in 30 minutes at a 120 kW DC fast charger.
