Riding high on the success of the Venue compact-SUV, Hyundai is on a roll to take the market by a storm. The South Korean car manufacturer which also sits at a comfortable #2 spot here in India have announced the name of their upcoming hatchback. The new product, which is technically a replacement for the Grand i10 will be now launched as the ‘Grand i10 Nios’. Bookings for the Grand i10 Nios have opened for INR 11,000 and will be launched in India later this month.
Hyundai is targeting the millennial audience with this new Grand i10 Nios. In terms of rivals, competition includes the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Ford Figo, Tata Tiago and the likes. This new Grand i10 Nios will be positioned below the Hyundai Elite i20, but still looks quite premium, or may be even better. Hyundai claims that the Grand i10 Nios has been developed keeping the Indian car buyer needs in mind. Compared to the Grand i10, this new Grand i10 Nios will offer more features, more space, more fun to drive and at a competitive price tag.
The Grand i10 Nios is technically the 3rd generation of a hatchback with the ‘i10’ badge. The Grand i10 Nios will co-exist with the current Grand i10, hence we can expect that it will be priced at a premium in comparison.
On the outside, one can notice the signature Hyundai cascading grille, low and wide bumpers, boomerang LED DRLs positioned in the grille area, projector headlamp, projector fog lamp, bold bonnet crease lines, dual tone alloy wheels, LED turn indicators on ORVMs, chrome door handles, blacked out B-pillar.
On the inside, the Grand i10 Nios will get a large touchscreen infotainmet system, twin-pot instrument console with semi-digital layout, full automatic climate control, wireless charging, round AC vents, textured dashboard, fabric seats, and more…
The engine and gearbox options for the new Grand i10 Nios have not been announced by Hyundai till now. Wait till the end of this month as we will be driving the Grand i10 Nios and sharing all that you need to know about this compact, yet premium looking hatchback.
