Hyundai registered highest domestic sales since inception, 6,05,433 units in CY 2024



Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has released its yearly sales performance that showcases its highest-ever yearly domestic sales of 6,05,433 units in CY 2024, a 0.55% rise over 6,02,111 units in CY 2023

As anticipated, 67% of total sales came from the Hyundai SUV lineup, with the Hyundai Creta being the best-selling model, with 1,86,919 units sold in 2024. For the majority of 2024, the Hyundai Creta remains the best-selling SUV and the best-selling Hyundai model in India.

Key highlights:

• In CY 2024, HMIL achieved its highest-ever domestic sales of 605,433 units.
• With 67.6% of overall sales, the business also earned its largest-ever annual domestic SUV share.
• With 186,919 units sold annually domestically, the Hyundai CRETA broke all previous records.
• In addition, HMIL’s sales of CNG vehicles, which made up 13.1% of its domestic sales in CY 2024, hit a new high.
• HMIL sold 55,078 units in total in December 2024, of which 12,870 were exported, and 42,208 were sold domestically.
• With 158,686 units exported for the year, HMIL further cemented its position as a major global export base for Hyundai.

Hyundai CY 2024 sales performance: 

The business recorded a little drop in sales in December 2024 as compared to the prior year. 42,208 units were sold domestically, a slight 1.3% down from 42,750 units sold in December 2023. Domestic sales for CY 2024 so far have totalled 605,433 units, a little 0.6% gain over CY 2023’s 602,111 units. 

Export sales, on the other hand, declined more sharply; in December 2024, exports totalled 12,870 units, down 6.1% from 13,700 units in December 2023. Export sales for the entire calendar year were 158,686 units, a 3.0% decrease from CY 2023’s 163,675 units. In comparison to the 56,450 units sold in December 2023, the total sales for December 2024 were 55,078 units, a 2.4% decrease. Compared to 765,786 units in CY 2023, annual total sales for CY 2024 were 764,119 units, a 0.2% decrease.

CNG Sales Performance:

Hyundai CNG vehicles witnessed growth in 2024, reaching their highest-ever sales figures and accounting for 13.1% of domestic sales in CY2024.
