Hyundai recalls Tucson SUV in India over electrical issue

Hyundai recalls the Tucson SUV in the Indian market for an electrical problem. The brand will rectify the issue and upgrade the software on the required part to ensure quality and safety. The voluntary recall by the brand is also in line with its customer satisfaction policies and commitment to providing high quality. 

Hyundai Tucson Recall

According to reports, the HECU may have possible deficiencies which may lead to a further electric problem. The brand will replace a fuse for the HECU (Hydraulic and Electronic Control Unit) and update the Electronic Stability Control software. Hyundai estimates its dealerships will require around 2 hours to complete the job, and customers with the Hyundai Tucson are requested to approach their nearest Hyundai dealership to rectify the problem.

It is important to note that no incident, injury, or death has been reported due to the recall part. And the brand is recalling the vehicle as a preventive measure. Also, the upgrade of the part will be free of cost to the customer. Hyundai will be attending to the Tucson customers with all the precautions pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic, as per the local regulations.

In the Indian market, Hyundai retails the 2020 Tucson at the starting price of INR 22.69 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi, and goes all the up to INR 27.47 lakh ex-showroom. The Hyundai Tucson is offered in both petrol and diesel engine avatars. The petrol motor is a 2.0-litre engine that produces 152 PS of power and 192 Nm of torque.

The engine comes with a 6-speed torque converter-type automatic gearbox. The brand also offers a 2.0-litre oil motor that churns out 185 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. The diesel engine comes with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The diesel model also comes with an HTRAC AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) system allowing the SUV to go off-the-road and traverse over rugged terrain.
