Hyundai has officially released a teaser video of their upcoming compact-SUV. This new model, which will slot below the Hyundai Creta is scheduled for a launch in the coming months, and will rival the likes of Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport & the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. This new product is codenamed as the Hyundai QXi and we first saw it as the Carlino concept at the Auto Expo.
From the teaser image which has been released, the following features are guaranteed:
- Electric sunroof
- Flared wheel arches
- Dual tone alloy wheels
- Bold LED DRLs
- Shark fin antenna
- Large front grille
- Design language similar to the Creta, which is a mass market hit
- Body cladding
- LED turn indicators on ORVMs
- Roof rails
The Hyundai QXi / Carlino is expected to be launched in a total of 3 engine options. We’ve reported earlier that an all-new 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol motor will be introduced by Hyundai which will produce 100 HP of power and 172 Nm of torque. Apart from this, the familiar 1.4L petrol and diesel engine options from the Hyundai Verna will be carried over, both of which produce over 100 PS of power. Expect a mix of manual and automatic gearbox options on offer.
Other features which we can expect considering this is a Hyundai car – climate control, projector headlamps, rear AC vents, touchscreen infotainment with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, central locking, MID, height adjustable driver seat, centre armrest, and the likes. Hyundai will most definitely introduce a few first-in-segment features as well, and we’re expecting wireless charging for sure.
So, are you excited for what we can call a ‘Baby Creta’? Going by how successful the Hyundai Creta is, the Hyundai QXi / Carlino should be an instant hit…
