Hyundai offers 6 airbags standard in all cars & all variants in India

Hyundai Motor India has announced that all the company’s models will come equipped with six airbags as standard. The move comes close after the news of Hyundai Verna securing a 5-star GNCAP rating.

While the six airbags and 3-point seatbelts for all occupants are standard across the entire Hyundai India model range, Electronic stability control and Hill start assist control are available as standard on 10 models and optional on 3. Similarly TPMS feature is available as standard on 7 models and optional on 6. Thus, across the 13 models, safety features like six airbags, ESC, hill start assist, 3-point seatbelts, seatbelt reminder and TPMS are available as standard or optional.

Meanwhile, the ADAS suite is offered as standard on 1 model and optional on 4 others. So, only 5 out of 13 models come with ADAS either as standard or optional.

Hyundai Verna scores 5 stars in Global NCAP rating

The Hyundai Verna has secured a 5-star Global NCAP rating. In adult occupant tests, the Verna scored 28.18 points while it got 42 points in the child occupant protection.

Some of the standard safety features on the new Verna include 6 Airbags, ESC (Electronic Stability Control) with VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), Impact sensing auto door unlock, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), ISOFIX, Headlamp Escort Function and more. Some of the optional features include Hyundai SmartSense – Level 2 ADAS, Front Parking Sensors, Electronic Parking Brake and TPMS (Highline)

Hyundai Verna comes with two 1.5-litre petrol engines. First, is the 115 HP naturally aspirated (NA) unit and second is the 160 HP turbocharged unit. The former is only available with lower variants, while the latter will serve the higher variants. While both engines will come with manual and automatic options. The standard gearbox is a 6-speed manual gearbox. Then the NA unit will get a CVT and the turbo-petrol will get a DCT as an option.
