Hyundai Motor Company has made an emphatic claim that its IONIQ 6 electrified streamliner. The EV will deliver 614 km of all-electric range per charge, according to the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure. Thus, IONIQ 6 customers will benefit from Hyundai Motor Group’s commitment to developing advanced battery technology. With enhanced range, customers get stress-free driving performance and long range. With WLTP-rated energy consumption of 13.9 kWh/100 km, IONIQ 6 is now one of the most energy-efficient electric vehicles (EV) on the market. As per Hyundai, the IONIQ 6 will go on sale later this year in select markets in Europe and next year in North America.
With the IONIQ 6, Hyundai is all set to become the global leader in electric vehicles. IONIQ 6’s superb all-electric range performance is made possible with the use of Hyundai Motor Group’s dedicated architecture for EVs. This is the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), and it also uses the electrified streamliner’s ultra-low wind resistance. E-GMP architecture delivers optimal electric performance. Interestingly it provides 800V ultra-fast charging from 10 to 80 per cent in just 18 minutes. Alongside this, it also supports 400V charging without the need for additional components or adapters.
Having a platform specifically for EVs also means Hyundai Motor is now better able to design vehicles to best meet customers’ needs. With E-GMP, IONIQ 6 can become a workstation or a portable power bank on wheels. Thus, creating new usage scenarios to fit the new-gen customers’ diverse and on-the-go lifestyles.
IONIQ Has Lowest Drag Coefficient In Hyundai Motor’s Lineup
Hyundai Motor maximized IONIQ 6’s all-electric driving range by working extensively on aerodynamic design and engineering work. In fact, the vehicle’s drag coefficient of 0.21 is the lowest in Hyundai’s lineup and one of the lowest in the industry. The model’s streamlined appearance and various design elements, such as an active air flap, wheel air curtains, integrated rear spoiler, and wheel gap reducers, add significantly to enhance IONIQ 6’s aerodynamics performance.
