Hyundai Motor India Limited is all set to introduce the Ioniq 5 electric vehicle. But, before that happens, here are some details of the Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS system that will be available in the Ioniq 5. The package will offer 21 Level 2 features for use on Indian roads.
ADAS Safety features on the Hyundai Ioniq 5
The Ioniq 5 gets features like the front camera along with front and rear radars. This allows the car to get information about the car’s surroundings in real time and can detect and mitigate the risk of collision by first offering the driver a warning about an impending crash or by automatically applying countermeasures to reduce the said impact.
One of the main features of this safety package is the Safe Exit Assistance (SEA). This helps avoid collision from a rear vehicle when exiting the car. If the side from which you are exiting has a vehicle approaching your Ioniq 5, the car will keep the door closed through the electronic child lock.
Other features include forward collision warning and avoidance assist for Cars, Pedestrians, Cycle and at Junction Turning, Blind Spot collision warning and avoidance assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Safe Exit warning and Safe Exit Assist.
ADAS Convenience features on the Hyundai Ioniq 5
Thanks to already equipped Smart Sense Level 2 tech, the car also offers smart cruise control with Stop and Go, Lane Following Assist, High Beam Assist and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert.
ADAS Parking features on the Hyundai Ioniq 5
During parking, one has to watch out for many potential collisions, especially when getting in and out of any space. To help out the driver’s Ioniq 5 gets few features that help make parking less risky. One of these is the Rear Occupant Alert – This feature will monitor the rear doors and display an alert on the MID that says ‘Check rear seats’. Other features include Rear Cross-Traffic Warning and Avoidance Assist and Surround View Monitor.
