Hyundai India continuing success for 25 years

Ever since the South Korean car giant Hyundai stepped on Indian soil, it has been growing rapidly. So much so that the company has now completed a silver jubilee of exporting cars from India. As per the latest data released by the manufacturer, it has exported 3.7 million cars since 1999. These exports have been done to over 150 countries, making the brand one of the biggest and most widespread across the world.

But, why is Hyundai popular worldwide? Hyundai’s popular models like the i10 and the Verna sedan have been popular across the international markets. These cars are the sole reason why Hyundai has been a testament in sales internationally. Additionally, Hyundai cars are equipped with comfortable suspension, the latest technology, and a smooth engine; making them a perfect choice for family buyers globally.

As per the report published by the company, it has sold over 1.5 million i10 hatchbacks and 500,000 Verna sedans. Even in the fiscal year 2024, Hyundai successfully exported 1,58,686 units to global markets like Chile, Mexico, Peru, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa. Currently, the Alcazar and Creta are top-demand models by customers in the international markets.

In India, Hyundai recently introduced the electric version of its top-selling SUV Creta. Creta Electric has further added to the portfolio of the brand, thus making it more accessible to a wider range of audience.

Our verdict

While the sales chart figures for Hyundai keep growing, the year-on-year sales figures in India went down in 2025. But, contradicting the year-on-year data, the Creta SUV managed to sell over 18,000 units in a single month of January. This is a testament to the segment and also to a manufacturer that aims to provide the best safety and comfort to its customers.
