Hyundai Motor India inaugurated a newState-of-the-Art Corporate Headquarters in Gurgaon India. The brand at the inauguration event showcased the G80, GV80 and the Ioniq 5. The G80 and GV80 retail under the Genesis luxury brand. The Ioniq 5 positions itself under the Ioniq electric sub-brand based on the E-GMP architecture.
The Genesis G80 is a mid-range luxury sedan that competes with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the BMW 5-Series. Powering the G80 is a 2.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 300 Hp of power. The brand also offers a 3.5-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine that produces 375 Hp of power. Both powertrains come with 8-speed automatic transmission.
The G80 sedan measures 4996mm in length, 1905mm in width, and 1465mm in height. The sedan also gets 3010mm of wheelbase offering roomier interiors and comes with a 5-seat configuration. The Genesis G80 was also spied in the Indian market, which leads to speculation that the brand may be planning to launch the car here.
The GV80 is the SUV version that competes with the Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW X5. Powering the Genesis GV80 is a 2.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 300 Hp of power. The brand also offers a 3.5-litre V6 that makes 375 Hp of power. The SUV measure 4945mm in length, 1976mm in width, 1714mm in height, and 2954mm in wheelbase. The car comes with 5 or 7 seat options depending on the model.
The Ioniq 5 is a mid-size crossover based on the E-GMP architecture. Powering the electric car is 800V and 400V architecture with charging capacity of 10% state of charge to 80% in just 18 minutes. The Ioniq 5 will come with 58 kWh and 72.6 kWh battery packs with a driving range of 480 km. The electric car is able to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in under 5.2 seconds. The Ioniq 5 also comes with V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology that can power electric appliances from the car’s battery.
