Hyundai Creta gets new petrol base model, prices hiked for other variants

Hyundai has launched a new base trim in the brand’s much-popular Creta mid-size SUV in the Indian market. The entry-level E trim which was launched with only a diesel engine option now comes with a petrol powerplant. The new E trim with the petrol engine is also approximately INR 18,000 cheaper than the E trim with the diesel engine. The new petrol E trim has been launched at INR 9.82 lakhs ex-showroom, India. The diesel E trim which debuted with the Hyundai Creta is priced at INR 9.99 lakh ex-showroom, India. 

Also, it is important to note that both the petrol and diesel engine prices on the Hyundai Creta have been hiked. The petrol EX trim sees a hike of around INR 62,000 and now starts at INR 10.61 lakh ex-showroom. All the other trims in the petrol engine option see an increase of INR 12,000 over the ex-showroom price. The same goes for the diesel trim where except for the entry-level E trim all variants see an increase of around INR 12,000 over the old price range. 

The new-generation Hyundai Creta is powered by fully BS6 compliant naturally-aspirated petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel engine options with manual, torque-converter automatic and DCT automatic transmission options. The engine line-up includes a 1.5-litre MPi naturally aspirated Petrol engine that produces 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual or an IVT (CVT) gearbox. The second option a 1.4-litre Kappa Turbo Gasoline Direct injection Turbo-Petrol engine that generates 140 PS of power and 242 Nm of torque coupled to a 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission). The third option is a 1.5-litre U2 CRDi turbocharged Diesel engine that produces 115 ps of power and 250 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter type gearbox.

The all-new Creta is offered with 10 exterior paint options – 8 single tone colours – Polar White, Phantom Black, Typhoon Silver, Lava Orange, Titan Grey, Deep Forest, Galaxy Blue, Mulberry Red and two dual-tone themes – Polar White with Phantom Black and Lava Orange with Phantom Black.
