Hyundai Creta EV road testing along with Tata Nexon.EV

Hyundai could be planning to launch the electric iteration of the Creta in the Indian market. The electric vehicle segment is currently booming in India and electric vehicles are soon to become mass market. Hyundai’s popular Creta SUV which recently received a comprehensive update is likely to be the base of the all-electric SUV model.

Hyundai Creta EV- Design

The all-electric Hyundai Creta EV is likely to come with a design similar to the ICE model. However, the front fascia is likely to feature a charging port and hence the grille area is likely to be new. However, the light signatures on the spied test mule appear to be similar to the ICE Creta.

Hyundai Creta EV – Battery and Powertrain

According to reports, the Hyundai Creta EV is likely to come with batteries from Exide and the battery pack is likely to be under the floorboard. In addition to this, the Creta EV is also likely to come with a single electric motor setup and the Creta EV is not likely to come with a dual motor.

Furthermore, speculation is that the electric motor is likely to be borrowed from the Hyundai Kona Electric. Sources report that the battery pack from Exide is likely to be 45 kWh in size and is likely to return a range of around 400 km on a single charge. However, real-world range could be around 350 km along with region technology.

Hyundai Creta EV – Features

The Creta EV is likely to come with a panoramic sunroof, digital instruments cluster and touchscreen infotainment system as well as voice assistance. The EV is also likely to come with interiors similar to the ICE model, however, there might be some distinguishing features such as a EV-specific drive selector. The brand is also likely to offer a comprehensive safety suite including ADAS.
