Hyundai begins new Verna production in India

We are aware that the prices for the new Verna will be out on March 21, 2023. Now as per reports, Hyundai has already started off with the production of the sedan. Once launched it  will compete with the Skoda Slavia, VW Virtus and Honda City.

Hyundai is now fully preparing itself for the to launch the next-generation Verna in the Indian market next month. As mentioned, the production has already started. We say this because we have an image from the factory. This suggests that production of the mid-size sedan has already commenced.

2023 Hyundai Verna Engine Options

The next-gen Verna will come with two engine options. First one is a a 1.5-litre petrol. This motor gets either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed iVT gearbox option. The second engine is an all-new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT.

New Updated Design For 2023 Hyundai Verna

The design of the new Verna reflects upon Hyundai’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ philosophy. The sedan now gets an Elantra-inspired front end. We say this because the flight now gets a large grille and a strip of LED daytime running lights running across the front fascia.

On the side we see the Verna getting sharp feature lines on the side similar to Tucson. Meanwhile for the rear, the sedan now comprises of slim L-shaped taillights with an LED light bar.

As mentioned, Hyundai will announce the prices for the new Verna on March 21, 2023.

Will The Sedan Segment Get A Revive?

Given the dying trend of sedan, Verna will find it difficult to draw significant sales. With the growing demand for SUVs in the market, Creta will continue to attract major attention. But given the updates looks and features list, we believe Verna will atleast make a strong statement in the market. With the recent revive in the sedan segment with launches like Slavia and Virtus, we just hope we see more sedans in the roads.
