Hyundai looks all prepared for the launch of the Alcazar scheduled on June 18, 2021. But, it seems that Hyundai is planning to sell the featured-packed Signature trim exclusively via Hyundai Signature Outlets. The three-row SUV based on the Hyundai Creta is touted to be a game-changer in the 6/7-seater SUV segment, taking on the likes of the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV500, and more.
As per sources, Hyundai Signature Outlets are the ones who are the big dealers having multiple outlets in a city. We mostly see these in the metropolitan cities, where the demand is very high. These outlets deal in a very high volume of cars on a regular basis. Now because of the Hyundai Signature Outlet concept, the smaller Hyundai dealers in the lower-tier cities and towns won’t get any allocation to sell the Signature trim of the Alcazar. Needless to say, they can surely sell the other trims which are, Prestige and Platinum. We wait to see how this concept shapes out for Hyundai.
The Hyundai Alcazar will come with three variants with different seat configuration options. The three variants on offer are Prestige being the entry-level trim, Platinum as the mid-trim, and Signature, the top trim. Furthermore, the Prestige trim will come with only a manual transmission option and both 6 and 7 seater options. The Prestige (O) comes with only automatic transmission and comes with 6-seats in petrol and 7-seat in a diesel engine. The Platinum comes with a manual transmission option with 7-seats in both petrol and diesel engine options. The Platinum (O) trim comes with only 6-seats and automatic transmission in both petrol and diesel. The Signature and Signature (O) comes only in the 6-seat option. The former features only the manual transmission while the latter comes with automatic transmission.
The brand will be offering single tone and dual-tone exterior paint options. Single-tone colours include Taiga Brown, Typhoon Silver, Polar White, Titan Grey, Phantom Black and Starry Night. Dual Tone colours Polar White + Phantom Black and Titan Grey + Phantom Black.
With the growing demand for SUVs in the market, it is safe to say that Alcazar will sell in good numbers. But, given the success of Creta, which was the top-selling car last month. Alcazar does have the potential to be the top-selling SUV in its segment. Given Hyundai’s extensive dealership network and service points and no direct Maruti Suzuki competition to the Alcazar, the SUV will find it easy to lure in more customers in the 2nd-tier cities and towns. The bookings for the three-row SUV is already open starting at INR 25,000.
