As per reports, Hyundai India is all set to introduce the Alcazar facelift in India this September. This mid-life update will precede the highly anticipated launch of the Hyundai Creta EV, which is expected to arrive early next year. Here are the key highlights:
Design and Styling
- The Alcazar facelift will feature unique styling tweaks that set it apart from the Creta.
- Expect changes to the grille, front bumper, alloy wheels, and side claddings.
- At the rear, the Alcazar will sport a completely new tailgate with distinctive tail-light elements.
Interior Features
- Inside, the Alcazar facelift will adopt a new-look dashboard design with a twin-screen setup, similar to the Creta facelift.
- It will continue to be offered in both 6- and 7-seater configurations.
Powertrain Options
- Mechanically, the Alcazar facelift will retain the current 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options.
- The petrol engine produces 160hp and 253Nm of torque, available with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
- The diesel motor delivers 116hp and 250Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Launch Timeline
- Hyundai aims to launch the Alcazar facelift during the upcoming festive season in September.
- Pricing details are yet to be announced, but it is expected to be slightly higher than the current version
Creta EV
The Hyundai Creta EV is likely to use the same underpinnings as the ICE (internal combustion engine) Creta. The EV is also likely to use similar design as the facelift Creta. Furthermore, reports reveal that the company is likely to manufacture the electric version of the SUV at their manufacturing facility near Chennai. Sources also reveal that the production line for the Creta and the Creta EV is also likely to be same. The Creta EV was first expected to be launched in January 2025 however, new reports suggest that it will be introduced by December this year.
