DSK Hyosung have revealed that they will launch the new GD250n, naked street bike in India by March 2015.
First revealed at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, the GD250N was supposed to go on sale before the end of 2014. But being caught up with the developments of the Benelli brand, new launches from Hyosung were kept on hold.
Powering the GD250N motorcycle was a 249cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected motor which was good for producing 27.6 BHP of power @ 9,500 RPM and 2.4 kgm of torque @ 7,000 RPM. Engine was mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike weighed 155 kg and was built on a trellis frame and alloy swingarm.
With minimalistic body work, slightly exposed frame work, the motorcycle looked its part. A prism shaped headlamp, sculpted tank, split seats, exposed rear monoshock suspension, upside down front fork, LED tail lamp, full digital instrument console, underbelly exhaust and white painted multi-spoke alloy wheels gave decent character to the motorcycle and looked much with the times. You also get petal disc brakes at the front and at the back.
Hyosung wants to target the KTM Duke 200 / 390 with this bike. But will the pricing be as competitive? We should know in a couple of months.
