Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 & SvartPilen 250 revealed for India

Bajaj Auto has officially announced the Husqvarna Motorcycle for the Indian market. The Swedish brand made its debut in our market at the 2019 India Bike Week in Goa, and the bikes to launch in the first phase include the Svartpilen 250 & Vitpilen 250 models. This is interesting, as these bikes made a global debut in India and are going to be on sale first in India. These bikes are identical in design to the elder siblings Svartpilen 401 & Vitpilen 401, but the engine is a smaller capacity of course.

Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 & Vitpilen 250 motorcycles will go on sale from February 2020 and will be sold in the PROBIKING showrooms.

Husqvarna is one of the oldest motorcycle brands in the world which has been in continuous production since 1903. Bajaj Auto will locally manufacture the new Svartpilen and Vitpilen motorcycles in India, just like they do for KTM. Obviously, the bikes share a lot of components with the KTM siblings. The Svartpilen is more of a scrambler styled motorcycle while the Vitpilen is a modern-classic cafe racer. The unique Scandanavian design of these bikes will surely turn heads.

Powering the Svartpilen 250 & Vitpilen 250 is a 248.8cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, 4-stroke motor matched to a 6-speed gearbox coupled to a slipper-assist clutch. The DOHC motor produces 31 HP of power @ 9000 RPM and 24 Nm of torque @ 7250 RPM. The Svartpilen 250 weighs 154 kg while the Vitpilen 250 weighs 153 kg.

The bikes ride on a trellis chassis and run on WP Apex USD front forks, rear monoshock, disc brakes at the front and rear with a dual-channel ABS setup and gets alloy wheels. These bikes run on spoked rims abroad. The Svartpilen 250 gets dual purpose tyres but has a upright riding position for touring & off-road abilities. The Vitpilen is a more sporty cafe racer with clip-on handlebars offering a front-leaned riding stance. Both bikes LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, digital speedometer, narrow seats, pillion grab rail, tail tidy with tyre hugger mount for number plate.
