Husqvarna planning to launch Svartpilen 401 in India?

Written by News Team

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 could be launched in India as early as January 2024. We had earlier reported that the motorcycle was spied testing and the production of the same has also begun.

Unofficial Bookings Open

As per sources, some Husqvarna dealers have started taking unofficial bookings of the new husky for ₹5,000/-. We expect the motorcycle to be priced between ₹2.75 L and ₹2.85 L. The motorcycle might be introduced with spoked wheels at first and later with an alloy wheel variant.

Svartpilen 401 Design

As seen in the spy shots, the Svartpilen 401 sports a scrambler-like off-road ready build. The test mule was equipped with spoked wheels and knobby tyres. Like its younger sibling, the 401 will also get a round LED headlamp with DRLs, an LED taillamp, and all four LED turn indicators. The tank looks muscular thanks to the extensions. The seat will be a long single-piece unit. The 401 will also get USD front forks and an offset mono-shock for the rear. Both the front and rear wheels will be equipped with discs and dual-channel ABS.

Svartpilen 401 Powertrain

The Svartpilen 401 is expected to get the same motor as the KTM Duke 390. It is the potent 399 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit that produces 45 bhp and 39 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox and might get some tuning updates to support its scrambler characteristics.

With the scrambler culture coming into India and the increasing popularity of the sub-500 cc segment, the Svartpilen 401 could do better than its 250 sibling. Also, the price will be the key factor in driving the sales of the new Husky. If it is priced under ₹3 L, we could see a lot of consumers making their way to the showrooms to get their hands on one. Once launched the Svartpilen 401 will go up against the Triumph Scrambler 400, the Yezdi Scrambler, and the Royal Enfield Scram 411
