There’s bad news for the ones looking to get the quarter-litre motorcycles from Husqvarna. Husqvarna has announced a price revision for its range of motorcycles in June 2022. Noteworthy to mention that Husqvarna had made a similar price hike announcement in May 2022 as well. In the latest hike, the Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250 got expensive by approximately INR 2,000. Now, with the latest price updates, Svartpilen 250 retails at INR 2,19,878, which was INR 2,17,779 earlier. Meanwhile, the Vitpilen 250 gets a price tag of INR 2,19,251, up from INR 2,17,152 previously.
As part of this price hike, the motorcycle does not get any mechanical or cosmetic updates. This was also the case with May’s price hike. Thus, the motorcycle continues with the KTM 250 Duke-sourced 248.77cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The performance out of the motor reads as 30.84bhp at 9,000rpm and 24Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm. The feature list remains the same, of which the key notable ones include full-LED lighting, a fully-digital instrument cluster, and dual-channel ABS.
This is Husqvarna’s answer for the cafe racer segment. The motorcycle shares its underpinning with the KTM 250 Duke. The motorcycle retails in India through KTM dealerships, and meanwhile, the production is being carried out at Bajaj’s facility in Chakan.
In the street bike segment, we have the Svartpilen 250. Just like its sibling Vitpilen 250, this motorcycle also shares its underpinning with the KTM 250 Duke. Also, this motorcycle retails via the KTM dealerships and its production at Bajaj’s facility in Chakan.
These 250cc models have been developed majorly for the Indian market. They share their styling from the Svartpilen 401 and the Vitpilen 401, which are currently available in the international markets. Both the quarter-litre motorcycles from Husqvarna compete against the other offerings in this segment which include Suzuki Gixxer 250, Yamaha FZ25 and its owning sibling KTM 250 Duke.
