Swedish Motorcycle brand owned by KTM of Austria, Husqvarna has revealed their first electric powered motorcycle called the EE 5. The electric mini bike is ready for motocross riding and competes with the 50cc motocross minibikes. EE 5 is a great motorcycle when you want to, ‘start them young’ and youngsters can easily learn motocross riding and even be trained for competition. The electric motorbike is designed for young riders and they can experience riding an electric motorcycle.
Husqvarna EE 5 comes with a classic motocross bike design, with a long slender seat, high mounted front fender, tapered Neken handlebars, long travel suspension, short rear fender, lightweight spoke wheels shod in off-road spec knobby tyres, etc.
The Husqvarna EE 5 is powered by an electric motor that can generate 5 kW equivalent to 6.7 HP of power which is connected to a 907 lithium-ion battery that can 2 hours of riding range for beginners and 25 minutes for serious racers. The battery can be completely replenished in 70 minutes. EE 5 also has 6 different riding modes that are easily selectable.
In terms of its hardware, the Husqvarna EE 5 gets a chrome-moly frame and rides on 35mm WP XACT front suspension and a fully adjustable WP rear shock absorber. The braking duties are performed by single wave rotors with hydraulically operated brake callipers on the front and the rear wheel.
The mini electric bike will be available in the global market from July 2019 and is designed for young riders. The mini bike may not come to the Indian market but other Husqvarna bikes the 401 series Vitpilen and Svartpilen have been much-awaited here and the test mules have been spotted on various occasions testing near the Bajaj Auto’s Chakan plant in Pune, where the brand produces KTM motorcycles. The Husqvarna 401 Vitpilen and the 401 Svartpilen are likely to be introduced in India around the festive season.
