Chinese technology company Huawei in partnership with SERES, a Chinese electric mobility company have launched the SF5 Hybrid SUV. The SUV is available in China at the starting price of CNY 216,800 for the 2WD model. The brand also offers an AWD model with prices starting CNY 246,800. The SF5 Hybrid SUV comes in four colour options Deep Ocean Blue, Charcoal Black, Pearl White and Titanium Silver Grey. The SUV also features Midnight Black, Garnet Red and Ivory White interior trim colour option as well.
Powering the SF5 is a DriveONE Three-in-One Electric Drive propulsion system. The new electric drive range extension system is equipped with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces electrical energy for the battery. The combined output is 551 Hp of power and 820 Nm of torque. The SF5 claims to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 4.68 seconds. The brand boasts that the SF5 can deliver a range of 180 km in pure electric mode. This mode can be used for everyday commute within the city. For long-distance travel, the electric hybrid delivers a range of over 1000 km.
The car features lightweight aluminium chassis, four-ball joint double-wishbone front suspension and a trapezoidal multi-link rear suspension. This keeps the overall weight of the car low offering a higher range as well as offers higher performance in terms of agility and stability. With this setup, the company claims that the SF5 can deliver faster acceleration while providing more stable tilt control and superior shock absorption.
The Huawei-Seres SF5 comes with features such as Huawei HiCar solutions, which provides a seamless link and switch between the cars’ infotainment system and the user’s mobile phone. This enables the user to access navigation, music etc from the infotainment system. The system also features an interactive voice control system for more concentration on the road. The SUV also comes with a 3D surround audio system and 38 dB NVH levels. The SF5 also comes with ventilation, heating and massage functions on the front seats enhancing comfort. For safety, the SUV features with L2+ level automatic assisted driving, adaptive cruise control, traffic congestion assistance and the brand claims that the SUV meets ‘five-star safety design standards’.
