Hop Electric Mobility aims to strengthen the e-mobility infrastructure in the country with the introduction of the ‘Hop Energy Network’. Hop Electric Mobility has set up an integrated network of battery charging cum swapping stations, in support of this initiative. Leveraging this network, Hop Electric Mobility claims that customers can charge a Hop electric scooter at home or swap to a fully charged battery when outside in less than 30 seconds. With the growing demand for electric vehicles in the country, developing a robust e-mobility infrastructure is a must. And we are currently witnessing a steady development in this area, as more and more companies join in to build their charging infrastructure.

Network Of Hop Electric Mobility Charging Station

Hop Electric Mobility claims to swap over 2,000 batteries in the past six months, thus adding over 1,40,000+ clean kilometres. The company mentioned that there are already 70,000 petrol pumps in India. And these petrol pumps can easily be converted to electric vehicle charging stations. There’s no need for further land acquisition, thus saving a lot of money and resources. Along with petrol pumps, the company also plans to add its charging at shopping malls, parking lots, and general stores. The company also mentioned that these fully automated capable charging stations could churn out over 150 fully charged batteries in a day.

The company mentioned that customers could opt for various battery swapping options. The first option is a monthly plan that allows the customers with unlimited battery swaps at any station. This plan costs INR 2,500 per month. The second option is to pay as you go service. This allows customers to use the service at INR 1/km for the kilometres they ride. The company has received a very positive response in cities like Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Gurugram and Noida.
