One of India’s emerging EV startups, Hop Electric Mobility, has announced the unveiling of its HOP Megaplex in Jaipur. The boutique EV manufacturer aims to increase production and revolutionise the traditional mobility space via the state-of-the-art HOP Megaplex. The new facility will allow Hop Electric Mobility to achieve a production capacity of 1.80 lakh units per year. Currently, the brand produces and develops ‘Made-in-India’ electric two-wheelers such as the HOP LEO, HOP LYF, and the upcoming HOP OXO.
The brand has employed a skilled workforce of more than 100 Qualified employees who produce 100 e-scooters each day. With deliveries being made across 55 locations, the new facility sports a state-of-the-art assembly line and an end-of-the-line testing facility. Additionally, the Megaplex also consists of Lithium Batteries, Cell testing capability, and a paint booth, aligning with the brand’s vision. The brand launched its regional operations in Jaipur with the Megaplex inaugurated by the Rajasthan Minister of Road and Transport.
HOP Electric Mobility: Current Portfolio & Future Plans
HOP Electric Mobility has made intensive changes in the traditional mobility segment thanks to its advanced technology and in-depth R&D., The company, states that the recently announced 2022 Union Budget has boosted its charging/swapping infrastructure to enhance India’s EV sector. It also comments that the awareness amongst customers with regards to EVs has gradually increased, which promotes environmental conservation. HOP’s current portfolio consists of the HOP LEO and the HOP LYF, which gathered immense consumer traction amongst consumers.
With the two e-scooters being incredibly economical, owners witnessed running costs of about INR 20 paise/Km while riding. On the other hand, the brand states that vehicles running on ICE motors produce fossil fuels with high toxins. The brand also stated that it would soon announce its HOP OXO, a high-speed e-bike alongside a new high-speed scooter. With several initiatives being planned, HOP Electric Mobility states that it will spearhead the EV sector by launching sustainable products.

On January 29th, 2022, Hop Electric Mobility announced that it plans to expand its presence across 300 Indian cities. The company inaugurated 10 new experience centres across India on Republic Day and now has 54 exclusive experience centres. Hop Electric Mobility is also working on introducing a built-in battery swapping system with charging capability for added convenience.
