Electric scooters have been proving their ability and many customers are happy with the same compared to ICE counterparts. This means there is a good demand for such scooters and many new players are coming in the market to cater to such customers. HOP Electric is one such manufacturer.
HOP Electric has launched its new Leo scooter. The scooter is priced under INR 1 lakh. Interested customers can purchase the bike at the HOP Experience Center or Online via the company website.
Features of the HOP Leo
The Leo comes with LED headlight with daytime running light, a digital display, and five colour options. These include Black, White, Grey, Blue, and Red. While the scooter doesn’t have onboard connectivity, the company offers an optional GPS module.
The HOP Leo has four riding modes – Eco, Power, Sport and Reverse. The scooter has a gradability of 12 percent. The front suspension consists of telescope forks while the rear uses a spring loaded shock absorber. 10-inch wheels are standard on both ends and they are shod in 90/90-R10 tubeless tyres. The rated ground clearance is 160 mm and the loading capacity of the scooter is 160 kg. Kerb weight of the scooter is 80 kg and the seat height is 800 mm. Not to mention, the electric scooter is IP 68/55 rated as well, which means it is dust and waterproof.
Powertrain details of the HOP Leo
The scooter is equipped with a 72 V, 2200 W brushless DC hub motor. It provides the wheel with a peak torque of 90 Nm, which is amongst the highest in the entry level scooter segment. The electric scooter comes with a Sinusoidal FOC Vector Control type controller, which makes sure that the scooter is easy to handle and the ride is smooth. The top speed of the scooter us 52 km/h.
HOP has equipped the scooter with a 2 kWh lithium-ion battery which is claimed to deliver a range of 120 km on a single charge. The company has also equipped the Leo with an 850 W smart charger that has a 0-80 percent charging time of 2.5 hours.
Availability of the HOP Leo
The electric bike is available from January 2023. Interested customers can visit the nearest HOP experience centres for test drives and more.
