Road safety education is very essential for developing a road safety mindset. HMSI has been conducting these Road safety awareness campaigns to develop more responsible Road users across the country. With this campaign, Honda aims to cultivate the right road safety habits amongst new and upcoming riders. Alongside this, they also want to help them in understanding the importance of using the roads safely.
Honda’s skilled instructors first started off with theory sessions. This included topics like road signs and markings, driver’s duties on the road, riding gear and posture explanation, and safe riding etiquette.
There was also a special training activity on Honda’s virtual riding simulator. This was executed for all to experience over 100 possible dangers on road before actual riding. Participants were also given danger prediction training known as Kiken Yosoku Training (KYT). This helps in enhancing the rider/driver’s sensitivity to danger and ensures safe driving action on roads. Students and school staff members who are already existing riders tested and honed their riding skills through various activities. This included slow-riding activities and riding on narrow planks.
To ensure maximum participation of the young students and help them learn more about road safety, Honda Conducted fun educational activities like road safety games and quizzes. As announced in April 2021, Honda has targeted to achieve zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles globally by 2050.
