Honda begins delivering 2021 Africa Twin in India

Honda at the beginning of this year launched the MY2021 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports in the Indian market priced at INR 15.96 lakh ex-showroom, India for the Manual Transmission option and INR 17.50 lakh ex-showroom, India for the Automatic DCT gearbox option. Now the brand has announced that deliveries on the MY2021 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports have commenced through the premium big-bike dealerships Honda BigWing Topline, Andheri East (Mumbai, Maharashtra) and BigWing Topline, Levelle Road, (Bangalore, Karnataka).

Design & Styling

The 2021 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports comes with enduro styling offering an upright front fascia with twin-split headlamps and a 5-stage adjustable windscreen offering weather protection to the rider. The headlight cluster is also equipped with cornering lamp function. The Africa Twin comes with sleek body design, boomerang-shaped side panels, a slender but large 24.5-litre fuel tank, knuckle guards, engine sump guard, cross-spoke rims with dual-sport tubeless tyres, upswept exhaust and scooped seats. 

Features

The MY 2021Africa Twin comes with a new lightweight Lithium-Ion battery that claims to offer 1.6 times longer shelf life and 4 times the durability of a conventional battery. The Africa Twin also comes with highlights such as a 6.5-inch TFT touch screen display with Bluetooth connectivity and Apple CarPlay integration, AC charging sockets to charge electronic devices, heated grips and cruise control technology. 

Electronics Package & Safety

The electronics package also includes a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that helps the motorcycle get features such as Cornering ABS with off-road mode, Cornering Detection feature in the DCT variant that recognizes that the motorcycle is in a corner and engages the proper gear, Rear Lift Control, Wheelie Control, 7 level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and Throttle by Wire (TBW).

Powertrain

The MY21 Africa Twin Adventure Sports packs a BS6 emission-compliant 1084cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that churns out 98.2 Hp of power and 103.3 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual or a DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) automatic gearbox. The Africa Twin Adventure Sports gets long travel suspension on both the front & rear to offer maximum comfort as well as off-road riding ability.

Colour options

The 2021 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports is available in two colour options – Pearl Glare White Tricolor on the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) variant and Darkness Black Metallic for the Manual Transmission option.
