Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced its sales numbers for the month of September 2022. Registering a sequential growth on the back of festive momentum along with a strong fiscal year performance, the company’s figure for the previous month is quite impressive. The total dispatches for the month stood at 518,559 units. This includes 488,924 units in domestic and 29,635 in exports.
The figures for September 2021 stood at 481,908 units. This includes 463,683 domestic sales and 18,225 exports. This also adds a significant contribution to two-wheeler industry volumes along with year-on-year momentum. Thus, HMSI registered a 35 per cent growth with 25,22,552 units for the period of April to September 2022.
Demand Rising Amidst The Ongoing Festive Season
With the opening up of businesses, the entire auto industry registered a strong demand force in the 2nd quarter. Now, as the momentum continues to rise with the ongoing festival celebration, we further expect the figures to go high. Honda also mentioned that all the dealerships are witnessing a visible rise in physical walk-ins, and customer inquiries are also on the rise. Furthermore, with an exciting and wide range of model line-ups across segments to choose from, Honda is all set to take the festive season by storm.
Key Highlights of September 2022
Honda BigWing flagged off the next edition of SunChasers: ‘A Higher Chase’ in Leh (Ladakh) with the Honda CB350. Meanwhile, the company also unveiled new brand campaigns titled ‘Scooter Bole Toh Activa’ and ‘Desh Ki Shine, Honda Ki Shine’ for Activa and Shine, respectively. HMSI announced that its cumulative two-wheeler sales in Jharkhand have now crossed the monumental 10 lac units mark in the state.
HMSI continues to expand its RedWing network. The brand added new dealerships in Rampur (Uttar Pradesh), Mohali (Punjab), and Nalbari (Assam). For the premium segment, the company expanded its BigWing network with new Honda BigWing outlets in Agra (Uttar Pradesh), Jorhat (Assam), and Gaya (Bihar).
2022 Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship round 4 concluded with positive results. On both days, the IDEMITSU Honda SK69 racing team’s Rajiv Sethu grabbed 2nd position in the Pro-Stock 165cc category. Thus he concluded the national championship with a double podium. Meanwhile, at the international level, Marc Marquez took an emphatic 4th place finish in the Grand Prix of Japan.
