In its latest sales report for October 2023, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) disclosed that it achieved robust results. The company managed to sell a total of 4,92,884 units during the month, reflecting a notable 10 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous year, October 2022. However, when pitted against September 2023, where they sold 5,26,998 units, HMSI experienced a modest 6 percent month-on-month decline in sales.
Diving into the performance breakdown, the domestic market appeared to be a significant contributor, as HMSI recorded a commendable 9 percent growth with 4,62,747 units sold within the country. The international front also showcased impressive results, with exports witnessing a substantial surge of 29 percent, totaling 30,137 units shipped out in October 2023.
Notably, during the preceding month, HMSI celebrated a remarkable milestone by surpassing 30 lakh customers in the state of Kerala. This achievement underlines the brand’s strong presence and popularity in the region. Furthermore, Honda’s ‘Shine’ brand in the 125cc motorcycle segment marked another milestone by garnering 30 lakh customers in western India, highlighting its widespread appeal in that area.
In terms of their product lineup, HMSI introduced the 2023 CB300R, which adheres to OBD2A standards. Additionally, they unveiled new iterations of the H’ness CB350 and CB350RS, known as the Legacy Edition and New Hue Edition, respectively. These launches demonstrate the company’s commitment to continuously refresh their offerings to cater to evolving consumer preferences.
Adding to their product portfolio, HMSI introduced the adventure tourer ‘XL750 Transalp.’ This new addition reflects the brand’s endeavor to cater to the adventure and touring segment of the market. In a bid to further engage their customer base, the company also announced the commencement of bookings for the first 100 customers at HMSI’s exclusive BigWing Topline dealerships, reinforcing their commitment to providing a top-notch customer experience.
