Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has unveiled its new electric scooter for the Indian market, the Honda QC1. The launch marks a significant step in Honda’s strategy to tap into the rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) segment in India.
The Honda QC1 features a sleek and modern design with clean lines, giving it a stylish and contemporary look. The front fairing houses an LED headlamp that ensures excellent visibility. The scooter’s flat seat and ergonomic design make it comfortable for daily commutes. The QC1 comes equipped with a 5-inch LCD display that provides essential information such as speed, battery level, and riding mode. Additionally, the scooter includes a USB Type-C charger and a spacious 26-litre underseat storage compartment for added convenience.
The Honda QC1 is powered by a 1.5 kWh fixed battery pack, providing a maximum range of 80 km on a single charge. The scooter is equipped with an in-wheel electric motor that delivers a peak output of 1.8 kW and 77 Nm of torque. The QC1 can reach a top speed of 50 km/h, making it ideal for urban commuting. It offers two riding modes: Standard and Econ, allowing riders to choose between performance and efficiency. Charging the battery from 0 to 80% takes approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes, while a full charge takes around 6 hours and 50 minutes.
Safety is a key focus for the Honda QC1. The scooter is equipped with high-intensity LEDs for better visibility, ensuring safe riding in low-light conditions. One of the standout features is the reverse mode, which makes parking and maneuvering in tight spaces much easier. The QC1 also includes regenerative braking, which helps recharge the battery during deceleration, enhancing efficiency. The Honda QC1 comes with a comprehensive three-year/50,000 km warranty, along with three free services and one year of free roadside assistance.
The Honda QC1 will be available for purchase starting from February 2025. Initially, the scooter will be launched in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, with plans for a nationwide rollout in the following months. Honda aims to make the QC1 accessible to a wide range of customers by offering competitive pricing and attractive financing options.
