Honda reveals 3 new electric SUV concepts

Honda has revealed that the brand plans to storm into the electric mobility segment with 10 new electric vehicles. The brand will be introducing the electric vehicle range in China in the next five years. For now, the brand has introduced three electric SUV concepts that use the e:N branding. The Japanese carmaker also revealed two new electric vehicles in the Chinese market – e:NP1 and e:NS1. Both the e:NP1 and e:NS1 are based on the Honda H-RV platform. Currently, the new e:N series electric vehicles have only been confirmed for the Chinese market. But the carmaker is likely to introduce EVs in other developed markets soon.

Honda e:N Series Electric Vehicles

While the ‘e’ in the e:N moniker is quite self-explanatory and the ‘N’ stands for “new value creation for the next-generation of mobility”. In the next five years, Honda will introduce new electric vehicles based on the e:N Coupé, e:N SUV and e:N GT concept vehicles that have been revealed in China. The brand reveals that the three electric vehicle concepts will be the base of the upcoming range of electric cars developed in the next five years. While the brand has not revealed any technical specifications of the vehicles, the brand confirmed that the vehicles will use only an electric powertrain. Honda will also offer autonomous driving technology with the new electric vehicles along with the contemporary features.

Honda Hybrid Vehicles in India

The brand is also planning to bring hybrid electric vehicles to the Indian market by 2022. Honda in the recent past announced that the brand plans to bring the Honda City Hybrid to the Indian soil. The new City Hybrid is likely to become the country’s most fuel-efficient vehicle. Given the rising cost of fuel in the country and the tightening emission norms, the City Hybrid is likely to attract a lot of customers. Using the City platform, Honda is also likely to introduce a new mid-size SUV to the Indian market by 2023.
