Honda Europe has issued a recall for the Transalp 750 adventure motorcycle in the European market. According to reports, the recall pertains to a faulty main stand, whose spring could fail during its operation. Furthermore, reports reveal that Honda is likely to replace the faulty part without any cost to the customer.
According to reports, the Honda Transalp 750 has an issue with its main stand spring. Reportedly, the spring could fail if the stand is lowered or raised. This could cause a risk to the rider as well as other road users if the spring fails while the bike is in motion. In case of its failure, the stand would drag itself on the road misbalancing the rider as well as causing a trail of sparks distracting other road users. However, it is important to note that no death, damage or injuries have been reported pertaining to this recall.
Currently it is unknown how many units of Transalp 750 are affected due to the issue. However, reports suggest that Honda bikes in Germany manufactured between the 24th January 2023 and 1 December 2023 are only known to affected by the recall. It is also possible that Honda Transalp 750 from other European markets could have been affected.
Honda also retails the Transalp 750 in the Indian market and the main stand is an add-on accessory. However due to its low sales it is unlikely that the option would have been exercised by any. In the Indian market, Honda launched the motorcycle with an introductory price tag of INR 11 lakh ex-showroom, Gurugram.
The motorcycle comes with a 755cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine with a 270-degree firing order. The motor produces 92 Hp of power and 75 Nm of torque. Honda offers the Transalp 750 with a pre-load adjustable 43mm Showa USD fork and a preload adjustable monoshock. The adventure motorcycle features 210mm of ground clearance and comes with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels with shod in dual sport tyres.
